Today, Wednesday, Al-Azhar delegation to Bangladesh has begun to distribute humanitarian and shelter aids to Rohingya Muslims in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

The distribution of aids, tagged with Al-Azhar slogan and Egypt's flag, will continue for 5 days. Meanwhile, Al-Azhar delegation will conduct some tours in the refugees’ camps to offer moral and spiritual support to the Rohingya. According to the UN reports, Rohingyas are the most vulnerable and ostracized people in the whole world.

It is scheduled that H.E. Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders (MCE), Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb - accompanied by a distinguished delegation from Al-Azhar scholars and members of MCE - will visit Rohingya refugee camps, in Bangladesh, next week, to check the Rohingya situation. The visit will be a good chance to send a message the international community and conscious humanity regarding the Rohingya catastrophe.

The Grand Imam has directed that Al-Azhar and MCE offer urgent medical and humanitarian aids to relieve the pain of hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims, who were forced to flee from their homeland to the neighboring Bangladesh due to the persecution and oppression they had faced in Myanmar.
