Today, Tuesday, Al-Azhar relief delegation to Bangladesh arrives at Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar, bordering Myanmar, to prepare for the distribution of the humanitarian aids supplied by Al-Azhar on Wednesday.
These aids are a part of the moral and humanitarian support provided by Al-Azhar and the Muslim Council of Elders (MCE) to Rohingya Muslims. The campaign will culminate in the visit by H.E. Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of MCE, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, to the Rohingya camps in Bangladesh next week.
Al-Azhar delegation checked the place allocated for distribution of ten thousand cartons of food supplies and ten thousand blankets, in the first phase. The second phase will involve distribution MCE-provided food, medical and shelter aids to Cox's Bazar city, where refugee camps are congested. The city hosts tens of thousands of refugees living in tents under volatile climate conditions.
