On Monday, a telephone call was made between His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof Ahmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, during which they exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. They asked Almighty Allah that this Holy Month return to the Egyptian and Bahraini peoples and to the Arab and Muslim nations with goodness, fortune, blessings, and further progress, security and prosperity.

     During the phone call, His Eminence expressed appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, its King, government and people, stressing that Bahrain is a great country that combines ancient origin and openness. He also praised the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa to raise and improve his country and to keep stability and unity of the Bahraini people.

     On his part, the Bahraini King stressed the importance of the role played by Al-Azhar in promoting moderation, coexistence and positive integration among peoples and communities, praising the great efforts led by the Grand Imam to call for peace throughout the world.
