The Grand Imam condemns the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka: "I do not imagine a human being who might target the safe people on the day of their feast".

His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb, condemned the bloody terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka on Sunday, April 21, 2019 against a number of churches and hotels at the capital Colombo and its surroundings during the Easter Mass, killing more than 150 people and injuring hundreds. In a tweet published on the official account of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on Twitter and Facebook, Al-Azhar Grand Imam said, "I do not imagine an individual who might target the safe people on the day of their feast. These terrorists’ beliefs contradict all the faiths." He also supplicated for the victims’ families to be patient and for the injured to recover soon.
