The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar praises ...

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar praises the set-up of the Higher Committee to implement the objectives of “Human Fraternity Document” Abu Dhabi

     His Eminence Prof. Ahmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders has commended the set-up of the higher committee to implement the objectives of “Human Fraternity Document”, commenting that such decision is a serious step forward achieving the objectives of this document, which is considered as the first of its kind in our modern history. It establishes the culture of citizenship, coexistence and brotherhood among humankind.

     His Eminence also stressed that the set-up of this committee came along with the crucial needs for solidarity and unity for spreading coexistence, brotherhood and tolerance values among the entire world. He also clarified that the spread of this document's principles and its implementation will definitely work in achieving security and stability all over the world.

     The Grand imam also congratulated the members of the committee for their selection to work on such a human mission, and called them for hard working to spread the principles of this document all over the world, which help in achieving security, coexistence and peace among humankind.

     It is worth mentioning that the UAE has announced the set-up of the higher committee to implement the objectives of “Human Fraternity Document”, on Monday, August 12, 2019.

     The committee included Bishop Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue; Prof Dr Mohamed Hussein Mahraṣawi, President of Al-Azhar University; Monsignor Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, personal secretary of Pope Francis; HE Judge Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel Salam, former advisor to the Grand Imam; HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; HE Dr Sultan Faisal Al Rumaithi, Secretary-General of the Council of Muslim Elders; and Yasser Hareb Al Muhairi, Emirati writer and media personality.
