The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar meets the Sultan of Oman and expresses his condolences for the death of late Sultan Qaboos

     On Tuesday morning, Jan 14, 2020, His Eminence, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Aḥmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb, met His Majesty Sultan Haytham bin Ṭāriq bin Taymūr, new Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman, at the Al-‛Alam Palace in Muscat.

     The Grand Imam expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the new Sultan of Oman, the royal family, and the Omani people, on the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Sa‛eed bin Taymūr. He stressed that Sultan Qaboos, may Allah rest his soul in peace, devoted sincere efforts to serve and raise his country, and to support the issues of the Arab and Muslim Nation, adding that he carried much love for Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and offered great support to science and knowledge.

     On his part, His Majesty Sultan Haytham bin Ṭāriq expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar for his condolences and sincere sympathy in such a great time of grief.
