The Grand Imam, “Protecting youth from extremist ideas is a top priority for Al-Azhar”

     On Thursday, Jan 16, 2020, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb received Ambassadress Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Egyptians’ Affairs Abroad.

     The Grand Imam said, “Supporting society and protecting youth from straying and extremist ideas is a top priority for Al-Azhar. It is important to benefit from their energies and capabilities in serving and developing their homeland. The youth of Egypt have proven efficiency and superiority inside and outside Egypt, and high potential for creativity and innovation in various fields. He also stressed the importance of consolidating the unity of society, evoking the spirit of fraternity, and rejecting any practices that are alien to our society.

     On her part, Ambassadress Nabila Makram confirmed that Al-Azhar has always been met with great approval both at home and abroad. She added that the ministry is always working to benefit from Al-Azhar experiences and its long history in supporting harmony in the national fabric, promoting noble values and fortifying society from rebellious ideas. She also noted that the ministry has launched many initiatives to protect the society internally as well as communicate with the Egyptian communities abroad.
