During his meeting with the Archbishop of York Church, the Grand Imam, “Al-Azhar has always sought to communicate with all religious institutions to achieve security and world peace”

     On Sunday, Jan 19, 2020, His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb, received Lord John Sentamu, Archbishop of York Church in the United Kingdom, accompanied by Dr. Mounir Hanna, Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Egypt, North Africa and the Horn of Africa.

     The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar has always endeavored to communicate with all religious institutions in the East and the West in order to achieve security and peace for all humankind. He pointed out that Al-Azhar is counting on the senior religious leaders in the world to fix the difficult situation that has been messed up by wars and conflicts.

     On his part, the Archbishop of York Church in the United Kingdom expressed his appreciation of Al-Azhar Grand Imam’s vision towards finding a moderate path to bring together the followers of Divine religions under the banner of human peace. He also stressed that the Grand Imam has also managed to break the tension among the followers of religions through establishing a common dialogue with the major religious institutions around the world.
