Words on Peace and Tolerance by the Grand Imam available in 13 languages in Al-Azhar Pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair
Because of what the Grand Imam’s words inspire as messages of tolerance, peace and promotion of enlightened moderate thought, Al-Azhar Pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair offers for sale to its visitors a book entitled, Words on Peace and Tolerance, by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof Aḥmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb. The book is published in 13 languages, namely English, French, German, Spanish, Indonesian, Urdu, Persian, Turkish, Greek, Pashto, Hebrew, Italian, and Swahili, by Al-Azhar Center for Translation (ACT).
The book includes the most prominent speeches and messages delivered by the Grand Imam in Al-Azhar international conferences, forums, and religious ceremonies, most notably the Imam’s speeches in the conferences of the Egyptian Fatwa House, the celebrations of the Prophet’s birthday, Al-Azhar Conference to Combat Terrorism and Extremism, Al-Azhar Conference on Freedom and Citizenship, and Al-Azhar Conference on Peace. The book also includes his speech in the Burma meeting in Myanmar, the meetings of the Elders of the East and West in Geneva and Abu Dhabi, the meeting of the Muslim Council of Elders (MCE), the World Council of Churches (WCC), and the British House of Commons entitled: “An Invitation to Acquaintance”. The book also includes the Grand Imam’s speeches during his international visits to Germany, England, the KSA and elsewhere.
For the fourth year in a row in its own pavilion, Al-Azhar participates in the 51st Cairo International Book Fair. This participation comes out of Al-Azhar educational and advocacy responsibility to promote enlightened moderate Islamic thought that has been adopted by Al-Azhar for more than a thousand years now.
