In the name of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb, declares absolute rejection of the Zionist occupation plan to seize parts of the West Bank depending on the policy of imposing fait accompli. Al-Azhar stresses that this issue constitutes a threat to peace in the region and a serious violation of international laws and covenants, adding that this represents a blatant violation of the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people and their lands. The statement explains that the Zionist authority typically uses the international community concern with the consequences left by the Covid-19 pandemic emerging on the world to implement its blatant aggressions against the occupied Palestinian territories.

     Al-Azhar also affirms its categorical rejection of these flagrant violations by the Zionist authority against the Palestinians. Al-Azhar also calls on the international community to take the responsibility towards the Palestinian issue. It appeals to the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to hold urgent meetings to make critical decisions to face this tampering with the capabilities of the Palestinian people and the repeated disregard of their rights and sanctities, especially their right to establish an independent state with Holy Jerusalem, Al-Quds Ash-Sharif, as its capital.
