The Grand Imam receives a phone call from the Sudanese President

Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Prof. Aḥmad Aṭ-Ṭayyeb, received a phone call from Lieutenant General Abdul-Fattāḥ Al-Burhān, President of the Sudan. They discussed the deep historical ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples. They also discussed the role of Al-Azhar in promoting moderate Islamic disciplines, and consolidating the bonds of brotherhood between the two peoples.

The call also discussed the most important issues on the Arab and Islamic arenas. The two sides stressed on the need for standing shoulder to shoulder and for solidarity between the two sister countries, Egypt and the Sudan, in facing the dangers threatening the two countries, as both are extensions to each other.

At the end of the call, the Grand Imam sent his sincere greetings and appreciation to Lieutenant General Abdul-Fattāḥ Al-Burhān and to the brotherly Sudanese people. He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the Sudan security and safety, to provide its people with peace and stability, and to spare our two countries any harm or evil.
