Must the Ka‘bah be on the left hand during the Tawaf?

While circumambulating the Ka‘bah (i.e. performing Tawaf), the pilgrim must make the Ka‘bah on his left hand according to the preferred view of the Jurists; the Hanafis, Malikis, Shafi‘is, and Hanbalis.
Jabir Ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them) reported that when Allah's Messenger (PBUH) proceeded to Mecca, he came to the (Black) Stone and touched it. He (PBUH) then moved to his right and walked rapidly for three circuits, and then walked (at a regular pace) for four.
This Hadith proves that when the Prophet (PBUH) circumambulated the Ka‘bah, he made it on his left-hand side, then went to his right. He (PBUH) said, “Learn your rituals (by seeing me performing them).” This indicates that it is a must.
