What is the ruling on supplicating aloud at the grave?

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger (PBUH),

It is in accordance with the prophetic Sunna to wait in the graveyard after burying the deceased to supplicate and beg steadfastness for him.

‘Uthman Ibn ‘Affan said, "Whenever the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) finished the burial of the dead, he would stand next to the grave and say: Seek forgiveness for your brother and pray for him to be steadfast, because he is now being questioned” (Abu Dawūd’s Sunan).

Ibn Mas’ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “The Prophet (PBUH) used to stand next to the grave after burying the deceased and say: O Allah! One of our companions is in the grave now, and he left the world behind him. O Allah! Bestow steadfastness upon him when he is questioned. Do not inflict upon him what he cannot bear in his grave” (Reported by Sa’īd in his Sunan).
