Assalam Alaykum,I worked at my uncle’s Ceramic tile exhibition...

Assalam Alaykum,I worked at my uncle’s Ceramic tile exhibition. He used to give me 1000 Egyptian pounds a month. Of course, this money was not enough for me. Soon, I became in need of more money, but I was embarrassed to complain to my uncle. Thus, I began to take money from the safe. A year later, my uncle decided to shut down his business. Now, I feel guilty, and I want to know what to do.

The answer:
There is no doubt that what you have done is forbidden in Islamic law (Sharia). As you should have chosen one of two options: you either keep working with the stated salary or leave the job. Now, you must repent your behavior, regret it, resolve not to do this again, and seek Allah’s forgiveness.
To absolve yourself from this guilt, you have to estimate roughly the sum of money you took, then, return it in a suitable way that does not put you in harm or sever the ties of kinship with your uncle. You can send it to him by post or transfer it to his bank account, etc.
I ask Allah to accept your repentance. Allah knows better.
