In the 10th episode of his program “Toward Proper Understanding”, which is published on the official page of the Islamic Research Academy (AIRA), the AIRA Secretary-General, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, discussed some of the fallacies of the atheists.
The essence of this fallacy is nature. They claim that the world created itself by itself, or that nature is the cause of the existence of this world. In fact, this fallacy - like others - is old and new, i.e. it is not an innovation of these days, but rather it has existed since the creation of humans.
Ayyad added that when we discuss this view, we find that it lacks evidence, because this saying is nothing but an assumption, while creation is a doctrinal issue, which cannot be built on assumptions, but on indubitability.
Therefore, this fallacy is unfounded and unsubstantiated.
He continued: This is confirmed by several things:
First, claiming that nature itself is the cause of the existence of this world leads to admitting that there is an action without doer, or an effect without cause. Nature as a term refers to the existing tangible materials, or their attributes and characteristics, and in both cases, the atheists’ view is false.
The latter meaning of nature, referring to attributes and characteristics of existing matters, cannot be – according to our view and the views of all sane people – cannot be realized and attributed to these matters unless a number of causes and conditions that help their existence are found, Ayyad explained.
The AIRA Secretary-General indicated that the fallacy that nature is the cause of existence depends on the idea of coincidence, which means the denial of the Creator or the cause of the existence of this world. This contradicts the law of the system of this world according to two premises:
The tangible premise that there is a system that prevails the world, and the basic premise that the mind deduces, which is if a system exists, it must have a cause and a purpose, and an organizer who manages it.
Thus, claiming that nature is the cause of creation is something contradictory, unfounded, and it cannot be evidenced by reason or logic.
