In the 17th episode of his program “Towards a Proper Understanding,” broadcast on the AIRA official webpage, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy (AIRA), Dr. Nazir Ayyad, continues his talk about atheism, some fallacies related to it, and means of confronting them.
The Secretary-General said that atheism is a dangerous phenomenon everyone should unite in order to confront it whether at the individual or the societal level. He stated that the first effective means to confront atheism is the call for monotheism (Believing in one God), by guiding people to the religion of Allah and explaining its essence and advantages.
Ayyad added that the second means is to work at linking science with religion, since contemporary atheists mainly depend on empirical science, claiming that there is a dissonance between science and faith, but in reality there is an integrative mutual relationship between them.
In this concern, the Secretary-General also indicated that the third means is represented in the role that institutions, whether they are Dawah, scientific, educational, media or community, should play in building societal awareness and confronting destructive ideas including atheism as the most important one.
Finally, Ayyad pointed out that the fourth means is the supervision exercised by the family, which is mainly responsible for protecting its members from falling prey to atheism or any other dangerous phenomena.
