Aḏh-Ḏhabḥ Wa Wasāˀiluhū Al-Muˁāṣirah (Slaughtering and its Contemporary Methods), is a recent publication of Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) at Cairo International Book Fair.
The AIRA’s Media Center publishes "Aḏh-Ḏhabḥ Wa Wasāˀiluhū Al-Muˁāṣirah” (Slaughtering and its Contemporary Methods), a book which is presented in Al-Azhar pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair, 52nd edition. This comes within the framework of the enlightening role played by Al-Azhar.
The book aims to explain the legal ruling in the jurisprudential rulings related to Islamic legal slaughter, and the means used to achieve that, in the past and at present. Such process comes through the scholarly jurisprudential study in finding the Islamic legal rulings based on Islamic legal proofs that were accepted by the Imams of the Islamic schools of Fiqh and the contemporary scholars who follow them. The study adopts the inductive approach, by presenting an analytical study to understand the sacred texts, and to know its purpose towards such jurisprudential rulings discussed in the book.
The author began his book by defining slaughter, its meanings used by jurists, the effect of slaughter on the animal, the point of slaughter, and what must be cut from the veins that are commanded to be cut in slaughter? Then, he mentioned the conditions should be available in the person who slaughters, the features of the slaughtered animal, and the conditions of the slaughtering tool. After that, the author identified the contemporary means of slaughter in non-Muslim countries, with an explanation of what is acceptable and what is rejected of them in the view of our contemporary Muslim jurists.
Furthermore, the author stated the areas of disagreement between Muslim Jurists, mentioning and and jurisprudentially discussing each one’s proofs concerning the issues in which a disagreement occurred between jurists, following that by stating the chosen view of the Islamic ruling regarding the issue.
