At Cairo International Book Fair 2021, “Will Durant's Views about the Islamic Civilization - A Critical Analytical Study for the Book of the Story of Civilization”, ... A New Edition by Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy (AIRA).

     The AIRA Media Center published "Will Durant's Views about Islamic Civilization - A Critical Analytical Study for the Book of the Story of Civilization". The book is presented in Al-Azhar pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair 52nd edition. This comes within the framework of the enlightening role played by Al-Azhar.

     The book is considered as an attempt to unveil the limitation in Will Durant’s well-known book "The Story of Civilization". Such book is known as one of the historical works that fairly presents Islam and its civilization among the historical and cultural communities. The matter which led to forming an accumulated inaccurate intellectual thought about the Islamic civilization.

     No matter how surprising it was for those who believe Durant was fair, “Will Durant's Views” book addresses such issue with evidences and facts away from fanaticism and whim to provide researchers and historians with it.

     The author of “Will Durant's Views” mentioned the biography of Will Durant: his childhood and cultural background. In addition, he discussed the essence of “The history of the Civilization” and its importance. He also stated Durant’s approach in authoring his book, appending the foreign and Arabic references he depended on. 

     The writer quoted what Durant had presented in “The story of civilization” about regimes in Islam, including political, administrative and judicial systems in the Islamic state. In addition to the social life of the Muslim community which includes its classes, customs and traditions.

     The book consists of three chapters: the first one includes Will Durant’s biography, an introduction to "The story of civilization", and Durant's approach in his writing.

     The second chapter includes the regimes; political, administrative and judicial, during the Prophet's era, the era of the Rightly-Caliphs, the Umayyad, Abbasid and Andalusian states.

      The third chapter contains social life, customs and traditions, etc….
