AIRA Offers 130 Scholarly Publications to Al-Azhar University Students at Discount Price

     In cooperation with Al-Azhar University, the Islamic Research Academy book fair started its first activities to present diverse scholarly publications, at discount price, to university students at the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies for Female Students in Nasr City, from October 26 to November 10.

     The fair was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Al-Mahrasawi, President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, the Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy, Dr. Salama Daoud, head of Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, in addition to a number of college deans.

     Dr. Ayyad, the Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy, said, “this fair comes in accordance with the directives of the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar and as part of  the IRA plan to raise the academic and cultural awareness of society members, and to educate male and female students about contemporary issues.

     Ayyad added that this fair presents approximately 130 publications in various scholarly fields such as faith, Interpretation of the Qur’an, Hadith and language, to meet the students’ needs. These publications address a number of important scholarly issues by correcting misconceptions of the intellectual issues that concern society.

     The Secretary-General stated that the Academy is keen to take care of youth and offer them cultural and cognitive support, as they are the segment most in need of awareness, education and knowledge that give them protection against the intellectual polarization of terrorist and extremist groups.
