AIRA Launches North Sinai “Comprehensive Dawah Mission” to boost Gov’t Efforts to Spread Societal Awareness and Confront Deviant Ideas
Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) launched a comprehensive awareness mission to North Sinai Governorate, headed by the Secretary-General, Dr. Nazir Ayyad. Dr. Elham Mohamed Shaheen, Assistant Secretary-General for Preachers’ Affairs; Dr. Saeed Amer, Assistant Secretary for Dawah and Religious Media; Sheikh Yasser al-Fiqi, Assistant Secretary of the Supreme Committee for Dawah; and a number of Al-Azhar preachers participated in this mission. This mission comes under the auspices of the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
“This mission comes within the comprehensive community awareness activities organized by the Academy, in response to the vision of the Egyptian political leadership regarding raising community awareness across the country, especially the remote areas that actually need such important awareness missions. All this comes according to Al-Tayyeb’s directives to intensify various activities that target the Egyptian society and achieve Egypt’s strategy for raising citizens’ awareness, said AIRA Secretary-General, Dr. Nazir Ayyad.
In this respect, Ayyad added that the program of this mission, which will last for a week, aims to support the country’s efforts to confront deviant ideas that threaten people's awareness, undermine their patriotism and seek to destabilize their stability. The campaign program includes male and female preachers who directly meet with variant segments of society. There are programs for school and college students, and for family members to explain the role that should be played by each of them and indicate the responsibility they share with society.
Finally, the Secretary-General added that there are also other programs for employees in some institutions and for the youth in youth centers and other local public areas. He indicated that the contemporary challenges that concern the Egyptian society and affect it in some way or another require effort and hard work to confront them. We should point out the moral and societal values, strengthen the spirit of patriotism, and exert efforts to secure our homeland against all predators- inside or outside.
