Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) launches a comprehensive awareness campaign to warn of the dangers of backbiting, as it has negative effects on the individual, family and society. This campaign is in accordance with the directives of the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, to intensify the direct awareness campaigns of Al-Azhar male and female preachers in a way that is positively reflected in achieving societal peace and family cohesion, and spreading positive and good values among people.
“Islam calls for spreading good morals and great values in the society, and also warns against the inappropriate behavior that affects society and threatens its safety and stability. In addition, it calls for outright confrontation with this behavior to protect all members of society,” Said Dr. Nazir Ayyad, the AIRA Secretary General.
Ayyad added that the campaign aims to treat this dangerous disease effectively by showing the methodology of the Qur’an and Sunnah in dealing with these lies- since they are released until they are eliminated and nipped in the bud.
