“They are Rejoicing”-Campaign Launched by AIRA on Martyr's Day

Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) launches a comprehensive awareness campaign entitled: “They are Rejoicing” that coincides with the anniversary of the Martyr’s Day – on the 9th of March every year.

This campaign, which lasts for a week, comes within the awareness plan that tackles important issues affecting the Egyptian society, and in accordance with the directives of the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, to intensify awareness-raising efforts and focus on effective and constant communication with society members.

AIRA Secretary General, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, said that this campaign, in which Al-Azhar male and female preachers participate, comes at a time where everyone needs to raise the status of the country in order to achieve comprehensive development in all fields. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the martyrs’ status and their great role in protecting and defending our homeland and its people by facing the conspiracies of enemies inside and outside. He also added that the deeds and sacrifices of the martyrs are lessons that deepen sense of belonging in the hearts of citizens of all segments.

In this context, Ayyad also explained that the campaign’s program aims to consolidate the spirit of sacrifice, enhance the feelings of appreciation and pride of the heroes who sacrificed themselves to defend and protect their country. At this current stage, everyone has to learn from those situations and align behind the political leadership to stress that the Egyptian army forces and police do not hesitate for a moment to offer everything precious they own for the sake of the nation’s welfare.

Finally, the Secretary-General declared that this campaign will be achieved by Al-Azhar male and female preachers throughout the republic, and that they will visit schools, institutes, youth centers, clubs, central security and police stations, prisons, and some government organizations to reach the largest number of the masses of all intellectual, cultural and age groups.
