The Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies, Female Students, Sohag concluded the activities of its first academic conference entitled: "Al-Azhar Al-Sharif: History and Leadership" held in cooperation with Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy (AIRA), March 1-2.
After several informative academic discussions and interesting intellectual dialogues, the conference came out with the following results and recommendations:
1-Al-Azhar Al-Sharif has its pioneering role in spreading moderate thought based on a clear understanding.
2- showing the impact of Al-Azhar Institution on Islamic civilization highlighting Al-Azhar pivotal role in spreading the Islamic, Arabic and human sciences, and the role of its scholars in reforming, renewing and matching the different schools of Islamic thought.
3 Demonstrating the influence of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on human civilization and vice versa.
4- Explaining the role of Al-Azhar in supporting peaceful coexistence among peoples and bringing civilizations together.
5- Showing the impact of the sciences taught at Al-Azhar on building moderate Islamic thought.
6- Supporting the reformist approach of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to face the deviant intellectual currents.
7- Emphasizing the role of Al-Azhar in diversifying the means of receiving knowledge and spreading it around the world.
8- Pointing out the role of Al-Azhar and its Sheikhs in spreading a culture of dialogue and peace throughout the world.
9- Highlighting the role of Al-Azhar scholars in preserving, revising and simplifying the heritage, so that people could understand it.
The conference also recommends intensifying academic efforts to spread Al-Azhar moderate thought in all possible means, so that people can understand Islamic and Arabic sciences correctly.
