His eminence Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, Al-Azhar Grand Imam and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders addresses the West from the German Bundstag.
His eminence The Grand Imam is scheduled to meet the President of the German Parliament Norbert Lammert. As well, the Imam is scheduled to hold an open discussion on the tolerance of Islam, with a number of the representatives of religious sects as well as some researchers and scholars. The meeting will be under the title of “Islam and Peace”.
In light of governmental and intense media interests that surround the Grand Imam’s visit, it is noteworthy to mention that the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif arrived at the German capital, Berlin, Sunday evening. He was accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Abd Al-Salaam, the Imam’s advisor for legal affairs and Dr. Muhammad Abd Al-Fadil, head of the German department in Al-Azhar Observer.
This tour clearly indicates the big efforts exerted by his eminence Al-Azhar Grand Imam to spread peace all over the world and to start a civilization dialogue based on mutual respect, accepting the other and instilling of the principles of democracy, freedom and man's right to peaceful life.
