The Muslim Council of Elders condemns blatant Zionist violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, asserting:
- The Zionist flagrantly violates human values, religious principle, global norms and international laws.
- The Zionist violations are part of a Judaization project planned a long time ago.
- We strongly condemn excavations carried out under and around al-Aqsa Mosque, under the pretext of (Zionists aspiration to build) the alleged Temple.
- All manifestations of the Judaization of Jerusalem and the forced displacement of Palestinians must come to an end.
- We call on all Muslims to pay careful attention to the issue of Jerusalem and to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque.
- The international community should shoulder its responsibility and prevent the Zionist entity from such unethical practices.
Muslim Council of Elders' Communiqué on
The Zionist Colonial Entity's Violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Attempts to Impose Temporal and Spatial Division of the Noble Sanctuary of Al-Aqsa
Thursday- Dhu al-Hijjah 23, 1436 A.H./October 8, 2015 A.D.
In the Name of Allah; may Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon His Messenger, his Household and his Followers.
With serious concern, the Muslim Council of Elders have been following recent developments in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, regarding the blatant violations and desecrations at the hands of the Zionist colonial entity in the compound and prayer halls of Al-aqsa Mosque, especially the entity soldiers’ brutal practices since August 23, 2015. These practices clearly violate human values and religious principles, and even contradict the International Law and all international resolutions. In addition, these practices are a flagrant violation against religious freedom ensured by the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), Resolution 217.
The Muslim Council of Elders considers these practices and criminal operations as part of the Judaization project planned long time ago and which became clear through the procedures of dispossession of the largest possible areas of land from Palestinians to create a new geopolitical reality of Jerusalem. This came to be clear as well through the establishment of Jewish settlements, driving native population away from their lands to impose a new demographic reality and to cause a demographic imbalance in East and West Jerusalem, where Jews would be the majority of the population, under the protection of the occupying army.
In this regard, the Muslim Council of Elders condemns the repeated violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque "the Noble Sanctuary" (the First Qiblah and the third-holiest site in Islam) as these violations have increased recently with the extremist Jewish organizations storming Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Army of the Zionist colonial entity. The Zionist army helps these organizations through allowing them to violate prayer halls of the Mosque, block the passageways leading to the Mosque, desecrate its holy symbols, prevent Muslims for long times from entering the Mosque and enjoying their historical and Divine right in this Mosque, which is a solely Muslim place of worship and can never be shared or distributed under any circumstances.
The Muslim Council of Elders as well strongly condemns excavations going on in full swing under and around al-Aqsa Mosque, under the pretext of the alleged Temple.
The Muslim Council of Elders calls on the Muslim nation, the international community and the UN to prevent Judaization of Jerusalem and effacing its Islamic and Christian landmarks and to stop forced displacement of native Muslim and Christian population of Jerusalem.
The Council calls on all Muslims to pay careful attention to the issue of Jerusalem to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and to stop the Zionist barbaric and planned violations aiming at the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque or the destruction of its prayer halls and compound.
The Muslim Council of Elders calls on the International community to prevent the Zionist colonial entity from such unethical practices and to assert the necessity of abiding by the international law and the international resolutions in this regard.
