Statement by Al-Azhar Observatory on the developments concerning Al-Quds Al-Sharif

Out of Al-Azhar Observatory’s religious, scholarly and historical responsibility for combating extremism, the Observatory believes that the U.S. administration's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the usurping Zionist entity and its intention to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is a clear proof of the blatant bias of the occupying entity at the expense of the Islamic and Christian nations. This act also exposes the double standard policy - which only knows the language of interests and power, rather than the language of principles and justice – operated against the Muslims and their capabilities.
Almost all of the world nations have declared their rejection of this unilateral declaration before announcing it at the United Nations, and agreed that this decision would threaten the peace process sought in the Middle East, and the whole world indeed. However, such views and attitudes were utterly disregarded and the decision was declared.  This decision makes it clear to the whole world who wants terrorism to persist and who stands behind it.
The Observatory warns that tampering with the Muslim capabilities, which are an integral part of the Muslims Creed in this way and in this manner will open floodgates of hell against those conspirators from the hearts of those fed up and frustrated by injustice and aggression of a world that knows only the language of force to restore rights and the language of blood to eliminate injustice and scourge.
The whole world knows that the Palestinian cause is the axis of peace in the East and that the Muslim and Arab identity of Jerusalem is the pretext used by terrorists to attract and recruit more followers.
So, shall the wise people of the world try to fight terrorism and reject this unjust decision in order to give the right back to its owners and give victory to justice and truth? Or would the world continue the policy of shock absorption so that terrorism will continue to spread horror and blood shedding, and history will witness a new crisis that afflicts Muslims?
Al-Azhar Observatory asks: how long will the world continue to blame Islam and Muslims for being the source of evil and terrorism in the world? How long will the world continue to blame the victim and free the criminal? How long will the world participate in fighting the so-called Islamic terrorism with force and weapons as it happens in Syria and Iraq, while the world deems it enough to condemn terrorism when it is launched by powerful parties? How long will the injustice continue to be the fate of generations of humans for nothing but their wishes to have a dignified life?
Whoever spreads injustice and promises that which he does not own to those who do not deserve shall not expect but terrorism and revenge; It is illogical to plant thorns and await for flower to grow!
Therefore the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar declared that this recognition will open gates of hell in the West before the West and will ignite the feelings of anger and tensions in the world, at a time when wise people attempt to defuse tensions and achieve peace.
