Dr. Ahmed Al - Tayyib, The Grand sheikh of Al – Azhar, received today the delegation of UNESCO organization, by Dr.Hamad bin Saif Al Hammami, the regional director of UNESCO for Education in Beirut, Dr. Ghaith Fariz, the regional director of UNESCO for Science in Cairo, and Dr. Hijazi Idris, the regional adviser for Education in the region Arabic.
The delegation emphasized that UNESCO seeks to develop cooperation with Al-Azhar and they are preparing a training program about coexistence, the promotion of dialogue and others acceptance. adding that, the organization of UNESCO aims to benefit from the successful experience of Al – Azhar which gathered all Egyptians.
The Grand Imam, welcomed the delegation, saying Al-Azhar is ready to cooperate with UNESCO in the fields of education.
He stressed that, there is an urgent need to develop a scientific program of common work between Al-Azhar and UNESCO soon.
