A Strategy Must be Set to Confront Islamophobia in the West

The Grand Imam Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar received Dr. Faisal bin Muaammar, Advisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Secretary General of the King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID).

During the meeting, they discussed means of cooperation between AL- Azhar and KAICIID, in which the Grand Imam discussed with Dr. Faisal bin Muaammar the various visions of drafting true Muslim discourse based on moderation and tolerance and promoting it in Europe. They also discussed the necessity of correcting misconceptions in the minds of some youth regarding religion, and the importance of instilling the notion and practices of dialogue in the Arab and Muslim societies in order to be a way of life, and an approach adopted to deal with the various issues. Discussions were also held on the necessity of setting a comprehensive strategy to confront Islamophobia in the West.
