Al-Azhar Grand Imam Offers Condolence to Pope Tawadros II

     His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and President of the Muslim Council of Elders (MCE) had a phone call with Pope Tawadros II, Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark in which he expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy for the victims of the terror attack in Al-Minia Governorate.
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar stressed meanwhile that this attack is but targeting the entire Egyptians, Muslims and Christians alike, emphasizing that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif with its scholars and students as well as the entire population of Egypt share the same pain of the victims’ relatives and lovers.
Al-Tayyeb furthermore stressed that the solidarity and unity of the Egyptians represent the strongest response to those terrorist groups who are void of every sense of humanity.
