The Grand Imam sets off to Abu Dhabi to participate in Forum of Alliance of Religions for Community Security

     His Eminence Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and President of the Muslim Council of Elders, has left Cairo International Airport for the United Arab Emirates to participate in 1st Forum of Alliance of Religions for Community Security held in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the title of “Children’s Dignity in the Digital Word.” The two-day Forum will be attended by senior UAE officials, 450 religious leaders and representatives of international religious organizations.

The Grand Imam is scheduled to deliver the keynote speech at the opening session of the Forum on Tuesday. During the preparatory sessions and workshops that preceded the Forum, Al-Azhar called for concerted efforts to immunize children against the dangers of the internet in order to be able to raise a generation capable of coping with the contradictions of present era and resisting extremist ideas that are presented to children on the Internet.
