The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, President of the Muslim Council of Elders Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb arrived, Sunday, in Riyadh after performing the rites of Umrah and visiting the Prophet’s tomb in Medina.
Upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Grand Imam was received by H.E. Dr. Abdul-Laṭif ibn Abdul-Aziz Al al-Sheikh, Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance; a group of Saudi senior religious scholars; and deputy ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Saudi Arabia.
The Grand Imam is scheduled to meet the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as well as a number of senior religious leaders in Saudi Arabia.
