Al-Azhar Condemns the Terror Attack against a Mosque in the Southern Philippines

Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism strongly condemns the brutal terrorist attack against a mosque in the Philippines, which resulted in the death of two and injuring of other four people.

The Observatory renews emphasis on its stance on rejecting all kinds and forms of violence and terrorism, stressing meanwhile on the prohibition of killing innocent people unlawfully and terrorizing the safe. It further calls upon the international society to exert more efforts to totally eradicate the terrorist groups.

In this context, the Observatory stresses that targeting Houses of Worship and killing the innocent are but sinful criminal acts opposing the teachings of the pure Islamic religion and other religions

Furthermore, Al-Azhar offers its sincere solace for the president, government, people of the Philippines, and for the victims’ family asking Allah, the Almighty, to grant them patience.
