In his Speech at the Global Conference of Human Fraternity held in Abu Dhabi, His Holiness Pope Francis, head of the Catholic Church, expressed his thanks to Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam, former Adviser to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.
It is worth mentioning that Pope Francis decided to grant Mr. Abdel Salam the Commenda con Placca dell’ordine Piano (Commander with a star medal) for his great role and efforts in promoting interreligious dialogue and the relationships between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Catholic Church.
According to the Vatican’s official website, Pope Francis will grant the medal to Mr. Abdel Salam in the Vatican on 26 March 2019.
