Al-Azhar Condemns the Zionist Occupation Forces’ Assault on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Worshippers

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif strongly condemns the Zionist occupation forces for storming the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Tuesday, March 13, attacking the worshippers in its courtyards and closing the Mosque’s gates. Such brutal attacks, Al-Azhar stresses, are a grave violation of the sanctity of a house of God and a continuation of the repressive measures against Jerusalem and its people; a matter which provokes the feelings of Muslims all the world over. Furthermore, Al-Azhar underlines the full right of the Palestinian people to dignity, freedom and sovereignty over its lands and sacred places, calling upon the international community to exercise pressure on the Zionist entity to respect the international decisions and covenants and warning meanwhile that maintaining silence on the crimes of the occupation raises the degree of instability in the region and the world as a whole.
