Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Strongly Condemns the Terrorist Attack on Two Mosques in New Zealand

      “A dangersignofthe escalation of the hate speech and Islamophobia,” Al-Azhar says
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, strongly condemns the terrible terrorist attack on two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, leaving behind scores of dead and injured. Al-Azhar stresses that such a terrorist attack is a danger sign of the terrible consequences of the escalation of the hate speech andxenopholiaand the spread of the Islamophobia in several European countries, even those countries previously known for their inhabitants’ firm coexistence.
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif meanwhile stresses that this criminal attack that violated the sacredness of the Houses of Allahand unlawfully shed the sacred bloods should ring the alarm on the necessity of showing no tolerance in dealing with such awful acts, and that more efforts should be exerted to sustain the values of coexistence, tolerance and positive integration among the members of the one society, irrespective of their religions and cultures.
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif furthermore offers its sincere solace to the victims’ families, invoking Allah, the Almighty, to shower the dead with His Infinite Mercy,to admit them into His Paradise, to grant patience to their relatives and to grant speedy recovery to the injured.
