Al-Azhar Al-Sharif strongly condemns the deadly terrorist explosion that targeted a mosque in the Afghan capital city of Kabul during Friday prayers, killing at least 2, including a senior preacher and member of the National Ulema Council, and injuring at least 16 other worshipers.
Al-Azhar stresses that targeting places of worship and killing innocent people are terrorist acts that violate the teachings of Islam and all religions, which all call for the respect and protection of the places of worship and criminalize any transgression against them.
Al-Azhar offers heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery for the injured.
