Al-Azhar Condemns the Quetta’s Mosque Attack in Pakistan

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemns in the strongest possible terms the terrorist attack which targeted a mosque in Quetta, southwest Pakistan, during Jumu’ah (Friday) prayer. The attack resulted in 4 deaths, including the imam of the mosque, and scores of injuries.
Al-Azhar asserts that unlawful shedding of the protected bloods in these sacred months, violating the sanctity of houses of worship and terrorizing the innocent worshippers are grave acts of mischief on earth, highlighting that such abhorrent attacks contribute to spreading hatred and racism and bringing about a fertile soil for terrorism and extremism.
Al-Azhar extends its sincere condolences to the government and people of Pakistan and to the families of the victims, asking the Almighty Allah to shower His Mercy on the deceased, to grant their families’ patience and solace and to give the injured speedy recovery.
