Al-Azhar Observatory endorses the United Nations call to abandon the Zionist annexation plans

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolai Mladenov called on the government of the Zionist entity to abandon its plans to annex lands from the occupied West Bank.

During his speech to the UN Security Council via video conference, Guterres said that we are at a critical moment, and that he is deeply concerned about the evolving situation in the occupied territories.

Guterres stressed that if the Zionist entity annexed parts of the West Bank, such annexation would constitute a serious violation of international law and hinder the possibility of the two-state solution and the renewing of negotiations.

For his part, Nikolai Mladenov stressed the necessity of not allowing the implementation of the Zionist annexation plans, calling on the members of the Security Council to join the invitation of the Secretary-General and immediately re-engage unconditionally with the quartet consisting of the United States, Russia, the European Union, and the United Nations in addition to the Palestinian leadership, occupation government and the countries of the region in order to find a way out of the current crisis.

Mladenov further stated that this bleak vision is not yet a reality, and despite everything, there is still time to avoid chaos, and that this will require concerted efforts by the parties concerned and the will to take political risks to achieve peace.

Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism, on its part, endorses the United Nations call on the Zionist entity to abandon its plans whose implementation strategy is set to be announced early next month, pointing out that the occupation is seriously seeking to genocide the Palestinians by seizing their capabilities and property and confiscating their right to life on their exclusively Arab and Palestinian lands .

The Observatory calls on the leaders of the countries of the world and their legislative institutions to support the Palestinian cause locally and internationally, and stand by the side of the Palestinian people who have suffered the scourge of the Zionist occupation for decades, and also urges the international media to shed light on the Zionist violations and expose the immoral practices of the occupation against the land and sanctities of the Palestinian people.
