Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism Strongly Condemns kicking a Copy of the Holy Quran and Burning It
Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism strongly condemns what happened in Sweden earlier this day as three men were seen kicking a copy of the Holy Quran and burning it within a public square during anti-Islam protests. The Observatory maintains that this crime totally contradicts all religions and human principles and laws, stressing that such acts fuel the fire of hatred, Islamophobia, xenophobia and racism against the other, which eventually leads to the spread of violence.
The Observatory thus calls for stopping such offences and for showing respect for the other's creeds, holy books and sacred items, since this is one of the most effective ways of maintaining stability in the world.
