Celebrating the International Day of Human Solidarity...

Celebrating the International Day of Human Solidarity, Al-Azhar Observatory: “It is one of the fundamental values underlying relations between peoples”

On the 20th of December, the world celebrates the International Day of Human Solidarity approved by the United Nations to promote the rules of international cooperation and to face global challenges, including poverty, protecting peoples, and maintaining human dignity.
In this special and important occasion, Al-Azhar Observatory extends its greetings to the whole world and stresses that human solidarity is one of the outstanding values on which human relations should be based. In addition, the Observatory points out that Islam urges that human fraternity should prevail among human beings, regardless of culture, color, language, religion or race.
The Observatory furthermore affirms that human solidarity –which is based on the convergence of interests and goals among individuals and peoples– fosters tolerance, coexistence, love and peace among people of all religions and ethnicities.
