Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Applauds the Efforts of Al-Azhar Observatory and stresses: We are greatly interested to cooperate together in combating extremism

Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) received today, Sunday, His Excellency ambassador Masaaki Noki, the Japanese ambassador in Cairo, who paid a visit to the Observatory to learn about its role in combating extremist ideas and monitoring the activities of the terrorist organizations all over the world around the clock, with the aim of providing a counter narrative to these groups' misconceptions and to prevent radical thoughts from influencing people’s minds.
During his visit to the observatory, ambassador Noki affirmed that Al-Azhar is making quite genuine and serious efforts to spread and strengthen the correct image of Islam, stressing that his visit to the Observatory was designed to know more about the vision and mechanisms operated by the Observatory amid the escalation of extremist campaigns that lead people to misunderstand Islam, a matter that resulted in many tragedies around the world, some of their victims were from Japan, according to Noki.
The Japanese ambassador added that Al-Azhar’s efforts in spreading moderate discourse and combating misconceptions are important and necessary for Muslims to best understand their religion and help non-Muslims avoid misunderstandings about their religion.
