Al-Azhar: Refugees are hit by multiple crises.. The international community must support and protect them

Al-Azhar reminds the world of "the Palestinian refugees", the oldest refugees issue in modern times

Sunday, June 20, 2021, marks the International Refugee Day. Al-Azhar Al-Sharif calls on all countries around the world, on this occasion, to give the refugee issue its due attention, amid the sufferings of the refugees who have been expelled from their homes and homelands because of the persecution, displacement and wars, as well as the material and psychological damage they suffered and the scourge of torture they endured for no legitimate reason.
Al-Azhar reminds the world of the issue of the Palestinian refugees, the oldest refugees issue in modern times, who have been unjustly expelled from their homes and lands, by force and terrorism, lost ‎their rights and still losing more amid awkward global silence.
Al-Azhar, therefore, calls on everyone to support the Palestinian refugees in their humanitarian and just cause to help them get back safely and securely to their homes against the will of the usurping occupying Power and its supporters.
Meanwhile, Al-Azhar calls on the international community to redouble attention to the issue of the refugees and address its causes, since materialism and avarices have overshadowed humanity and human rights.
Al-Azhar, lastly, stresses that refugees are hit by multiple crises and they must be supported and protected to improve their livelihood, defend their rights and help them overcome the psychological implications that forced them out of their homelands.
