Muslim Council of Elders holds its 16th regular meeting in Bahrain on November 4th

     The Muslim Council of Elders is set to hold its 16th regular meeting under the chairmanship of His Eminence Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, on the 4th of November in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting is scheduled to discuss a number of critical and urgent issues raised in the Islamic world, ways to support the most vulnerable Muslim communities, situation of Muslim communities in the West, global humanitarian crises and challenges, especially the role of religious leaders in addressing the climate change crisis, as well as ways to enhance dialogue between various schools of Islamic thought, the Islamic-Christian relations, and ways to support of interfaith dialogue initiatives.
The Muslim Council of Elders will also discuss ways to face attempts to impose some behaviors that stand at odds with human nature on Islamic peoples, and attempts to undermine religious values and undermine the concept of family among young people.
On his part, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahraini Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, said that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and the Bahraini people welcome this important meeting of the Council of Muslim Elders and support its outcomes out of the firm and permanent belief of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the importance of coexistence in achieving peace and human fraternity.
The Muslim Council of Elders had decided, during its 15th regular meeting, held in November 2021 at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, to organize the next regular meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting coincides with the Bahrain Dialogue Forum of "East and West for Human Coexistence" to take place on 3-4 November. The forum is set to be hosted under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and will be attended by His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, a number of prominent religious leaders and a group of intellectuals and media figures.
