110 Classrooms built for Cox’s Bazar students by UNICEF

UNICEF has handed 110 classrooms to the Bangladesh government across about 22 schools in Cox's Bazar.
The total 110 classrooms include 74 new buildings and 36 renovated ones. The new and improved classrooms are set to offer child-friendly learning environments and increased access to education for more than 8,000 Bangladeshi children.
According to the UNICEF, the initiative is part of the UN affiliate body’s support to Bangladeshi children in the district of Cox’s Bazar, a district which is coping with the challenge of hosting nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees from Myanmar.
UNICEF is also supporting the Government of Bangladesh to enhance teaching and learning through grants that benefit all 657 schools in Cox’s Bazar.
On its part, Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) welcomes UNICEF initiative based on its belief in the importance of education as a human right. AOCE, however, questions whether these classes will be accessible by Rohingya children, given the fact that Cox’s Bazar hosts nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees from Myanmar? This point is not clear till this moment. If this is true, it will be a good support for Rohingya children. However, if this is not the case, then is not it logical that those children deserve such support to grant them their right to good educational environment?
