Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) received an Uzbek delegation included His Excellency Advisor to the Uzbek President, the Uzbek Mufti and the Uzbek Minister of Religious Affairs. The delegation met His Excellency the Deputy of Al-Azhar, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwainy, who accompanied them during their visit to the Observatory to explore more about its mechanism in monitoring the activities of terrorist organizations and refuting their extremist ideologies.
During their visit, the delegation was introduced to the efforts of the Observatory’s different units in 13 languages and was also briefed about its latest products-videos, studies, books and social media campaigns- and the most prominent issues focused on by the AOCE researchers like Islamophobia, white nationalism, and the refugee crisis.
At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their appreciation and admiration of the efforts and products released by the Observatory tackling many of the most persistent international issues.
