His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad at-Tayeb expresses his heartfelt congratulations to the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and all Muslim and Arab nations; kings, presidents, crown princes, leaders, and peoples on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr; praying to Allah, the Almighty, to make it a feast of joy and pleasure, progress and prosperity, and to bless our Muslim and Arab nations with unity, peace, and glory.
On this auspicious occasion, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar calls upon all Muslims all over the globe to be seek Allah’s blessings, bounty, and mercy and to seize this blessed opportunity to satisfy people’s needs and spread joy and pleasure among the weak and the needy, in accordance with Prophet Muhamad’s (PBUH) hadiths, “Whoever is concerned with meeting the needs of his brother, Allah shall be so concerned with his needs”, and “The most beloved people to Allah are the most beneficial to people; and the most beloved of deeds to Allah, Glory be to Him, is to spread joy and pleasure upon a Muslim”
In these blessed days, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif calls upon all Muslims to heal the deep rift, cease bloodshed which Allah, the Almighty, has forbidden from above the Seven Heavens, to reject all forms of division and discord, and to uphold the values of religious and human fraternity. In addition, the Grand Imam invokes Allah, the Almighty, to bless Muslims with glory and unity, to guard our world against the evils of wars and conflicts, and to spread goodness throughout the entire world.
