Al-Azhar Observatory Receives Indonesian Delegation

     Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) received, on Tuesday, May, 2nd 2023, a delegation from The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemlu), on the sidelines of its participation at the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) held in Cairo May 2–4, 2023. The delegation discussed ways to enhance cooperation and experience exchange between AOCE and Indonesian peer bodies in the field of combating extremism and terrorism. 
During their visit, the delegation was briefed on the 13-language AOCE efforts and activities along with its latest products —videos, studies, books, and social media campaigns— and the most prominent issues focused on by AOCE researchers, including Islamophobia, refugees, and hate speech.
The visiting delegation, comprised of Mr. Chaka Alverdi I; Director of International Security and Disarmament at Kemlu, and Mr. Fahmi R.; Secretary of the Director of International Security and Disarmament at Kemlu, commended AOCE's efforts in countering extremism and addressing issues related to hate speech that negatively affect peaceful coexistence in societies.
