World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development

According to United Nations data, 89% of the conflicts and disputes that our world is witnessing today arise in countries with no dialogue among different cultures, spilling over into hindering peace and development efforts.
Therefore, it is significant to remind the world of the necessity of preserving diversity of cultural expression as well as protecting cultural heritage, encouraging positive change by means of digital acculturation, and building bridges of dialogue among people regardless of their cultural backgrounds in a pro-sustainable development fashion that reflects what world countries really seek. Thus, UNESCO designated May 21st as World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.
Undoubtedly, respect for cultural diversity and multifacetedness contributes to promoting global peace and security, and finding commonalities among peoples of planet earth for purposes of positive communication and interactions, which by turn constitutes a factor of protection against extremist ideologies that find an outlet in some societies through creating deep divisions among their members and promoting monoculturalism.
