Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE), in collaboration with the Higher Institute of Languages at the Culture & Science City (HILCSC) in 6th of October City, organized a symposium entitled "Youth Contemporary Issues between Religion and Customs”. AOCE emphasized the importance of instilling the culture of belonging in children and youth and addressing identity issues; considering the extremist groups’ exploitation of identity crises to make new recruits. The open get-together also tackled various challenges the youth face, including job hunting and academic experiences, job opportunities, immigration, etc. This symposium is a part of the "Listen and Talk" initiative launched by AOCE in 2018 with the aim of building bridges of trust and dialogue with young people and addressing the challenges they face.
