In light of the sublime role of Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) in spreading awareness on the dangers and threats of disinformation, mal-information, and rumors, AOCE participated in a training program for combating these evils organized by al-Gharbia Governorate under the auspices of Governor Tareq Rahmi.
AOCE researchers addressed disinformation, mal-information, and rumors as well as their psychological and social repercussions, expounding on means of using and countering such delusive tactics. AOCE researchers also shed light on fatwa-making and the importance of authenticating and verifying fatwas as issued by authorized specialized organizations.
AOCE has organized many youth activities, symposiums, initiatives, and outreach campaigns since 2015, including “Listen and Talk” and "Towards a Youth-Oriented Vision", aiming to build bridges of trust and dialogue with youth and promote global peace.
